DESCRIPTION:Join Durga Leela, founder of Yoga of Recovery®, for an introduction to Ayurveda, the Eastern holistic healing science. Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences for healing and transformation throughout all levels of our being: Ayurveda focuses on the treatment (chikitsa) of the body and mind, while the goal of Yoga is self-development and realization.\nAyurveda is recognized as one of the most important systems of mind-body medicine, and its popularity is spreading in the west. This foundational online workshop will introduce you to Ayurvedic concepts and language.\nTopics of study include:\n\nPhilosophy of Ayurveda\nFundamental Ayurvedic qualities of the universe: three gunas, five elements, three doshas, twenty qualities, five sub-doshas, and subtle doshas: prana, tejas, and ojas\nDigestion (agni) and elimination (mala)\nConstitutional examination and mental nature\n\nThis workshop is part of Basics of Ayurveda & Online on June 3&15, 2021, a longer, more in-depth course on Ayurveda. If you would like to go deeper in your study of a holistic model of Yoga therapy based upon Ayurveda, you have the option to register for the longer course.\nLive sessions with Durga on Thursday and Friday at 6&9 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 am&2:30 pm and 4&7 pm ET.\n
