About the IYTA

The Integral Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA) is a membership organization founded in 1993. It serves all Yoga teachers who have taken an Integral Yoga teacher training program. The mission of the Integral Yoga Teachers Association is to support Integral Yoga teachers, Centers, and Institutes around the world in furthering the dissemination of the Integral Yoga teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda.

Integral Yoga Institutes

differ from Integral Yoga Centers primarily in scope of operation. Institutes hold more classes and activities on a regular basis; they often have residents who wish to study, practice, and live the teachings in the supportive environment of an Integral Yoga Institute; and they are required to have a standard IYI altar. Integral Yoga Institutes are usually, but not necessarily, non-profit centers linked in their charter to Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville.

Integral Yoga Centers range in size from the director teaching one class a week in his or her home or local recreation center to a rented Center location with multiple classes per day taught by a group of Integral Yoga teachers. Some Centers also have open meditation, kirtans, satsangs, Raja Yoga classes, etc. Integral Yoga Centers are usually, but not necessarily, for-profit centers.

Interested in starting an Integral Yoga Center?

The Integral Yoga Teachers Council welcomes with great joy interest in building the global Integral Yoga Community! Please do not hesitate to contact the IYTA if you would like to receive an application, or if you have any questions about the application process or the nature and function of our Centers.

Since Integral Yoga Centers represent the teachings of Sri Gurudev and Integral Yoga, directors of Centers are required to have completed Basic and Intermediate Hatha Yoga TT and to have received Mantra Initiation. If you don’t meet these requirements but feel you have equivalent experience, knowledge, or devotion, please contact the IYTA Director, at director@iyta.org or (+1) 434.969.3121, ext. 159.

We look forward to hearing from you!
